Abstract
Teachers as people who deal directly with students, always have difficulties in
terms of the development of students' creativity. Creativity is an activity or process of
thinking to generate new ideas and useful. This research is motivated by the lack of
creativity of the students, especially in mathematics learning. The purpose of this study
was to see the extent to which learning methods discoveri relation to student learning
creativity.
This research was shaped experiment, carried out in SMP Negeri 2 Kotanopan.
The population is all students of class VII. Data were collected using a test. essays were
performed at the beginning and end of the lesson. after passing the test requirements
analysis, testing the equality of two selanjutnyadilakukan average. Data was analyzed
using t-test.
From the calculation results of data analysis showed rejection H0 and acceptance
H1. Thus meaning that the average creativity of learning mathematics using the
discovery learning method is better than the average creativity of learning that do not use
discovery learning method. It was concluded that a significant difference between
discovery learning methods to grade students' mathematics learning creativity VII SMP
Negeri 2 Kotanopan
