Abstract
Asceticism and wara’ (keeping away from things that Subhat) is the
fundamental teachings of the Sufi practice of the teachings of Muslim
thinkers considered as factors contributing to the decline of Islamic
civilization. Likewise Sufism streams with different doctrines shaped
congregation leaders (Sheikh Murshid) is deemed unable to build a
new formulation that can balance the life of the world (the profane) to
the afterlife. Then counterpoised the neo-Sufism with theories that
offer Tawazun (balance), socio-moral development, mingling with
members of the community and are not concerned with the afterlife
mere selfish. However analysis of the authors, neo-Sufism did not
work give a comprehensive new formulation in the field of teaching
and methods.
