Abstract
The Umayyad dynasty was attributed to Umayya bin Abd Shams bin Abdu Manaf. He was one of the important figures in the Quraysh during the period of ignorance. The reign of the Umayyad dynasty was almost a century, to be exact for 90 years with 14 caliphs. Walid Abul Abbas bin Abdul Malik bin Marwan bin Hakam was born in 48 H or 705 AD He served as caliph replacing his father, Abdul Malik bin Marwan in 84 H/705 AD. He ruled for 13 years. Caliph Walid bin Abdul Malik was one of the caliphs who built the Umayyad dynasty. After serving as caliph he immediately reorganized his government both at home and abroad. The expansion of the territory of the Caliph Walid bin Abdul covered three continents, namely Asia, Africa, Europe (Southwest).
