Abstract

Learning theory is an attempt to describe how people learn, thereby helping
us understand the complex process of learning. Learning theory concerned with
how a person influences others to enable the learning process. Bruner in Degeng
suggests that learning theory is prescriptive, while learning theory is descriptive.
Prescriptive means, the goal of learning theory is a set of methods / learning
strategies in order to obtain optimum results match / In other words, the theory of
learning to deal with attempts to control specific variables in the theory of learning
in order to facilitate learning. While the descriptive meaning, the purpose of
learning theory is to explain the process of learning. Learning theory concerned
with how people learn. The theory of learning behavior (behavioristik) include,
among others: Thorndike theory, skinner theory, the theory of Ausubel, Gagne
Theory, Theory Pavlov, Theory Baruda and mental exercise flow. Thus
mathematics teacher who studied this theory is very useful to improve her skills as a
professional math teacher because by mastering this material and its application will
improve also the insight ability to implement mathematics learning activities in the
classroom.
