Abstract
Hamka, a scholar of modern Indonesia, who was born and raised in Minangkabau and never become 'child live' in the family, has a unique view on polygamy. If some scholars, to understand the verses of the Koran about polygamy absolute, but for that paragraph is not appropriate Hamka understood implicitly. There are a number of aspects of the background for the permissibility of polygamy. This study tries to unfurl how exactly HAMKA original insights about polygamy.
