Abstract
Asghar Ali Engineer is one of a reformer and was involved in the reform
movement in Indiapur, India. One of his works "Islam and the Theology of
Liberation (Islam and Liberation Theology)" is a reaction to the emergence of
the regime in the name of religion that tend to reinforce the status quo. It cannot
be criticized and it is also less of evaluated the justisement of Muslims.
According to the theology of Engineer, it can be reviewed and invited to discuss
about everyday social, economic, and political problems. Theology should be
interwined with the life not only discuss about theologies itself.
