Abstract
Moral teaching is very important given to every citizen with the aim of creating moral citizens. Moral teaching can be done formally through school, and can be non-formal approach to the moral values of a culture. One culture in North Sumatra is the Malay culture using symbolic slap. In a slap there are moral values such as loyalty, humility, fortitude, cleanliness, and diversity. Moral values is related to the social life of society and the person. Faithfulness and diversity values related to social values. Tenacity, cleanliness, and humble with regard to the individual person. These values are intended to create a sense of respect and mutual respect in the midst of the social life of the society living in harmony and peace.
