Abstract

The key result of the dissertation constitutes that Islam is not merely teachings containing aspects of personal belief but Islam is also a system that requires the establishment of an independent society based on distinctive leadership and laws. Against this background, the prophet Muhammad (May blessing and peace be upon Him) has laid down foundational principles of politics of which four rightly-guided caliphs have followed his footstep, which later known as a system of Caliphate. The Caliphate has been practiced for centuries and continued to be applied by both Umayyad and Abbasid dynasties. Islam has reached its glorious civilizational peaks; politically, scientifically and socially thanks to the Caliphate.
